Velour has a signature soft texture with a 'plush' surface called pile. It is made by cutting across twisted wire with a special knitting method. The hallmark of velour is that it has a soft surface with soft fibers that follow the movement of the hand. It is also stretchable and therefore ideal for use in clothing. The material both yields and contracts again, which means it retains its shape.
